Amy Stone

Attorney

A native of Florida, Amy R. Stone currently resides in Savannah, Georgia. She attended Wesleyan College on academic and leadership scholarships, graduating in 2000 with a degree in History & Political Science. During college, she worked for a civilian defense attorney who ignited her love for criminal law. Ms. Stone graduated from Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law in 2004. During law school she clerked for a District Attorney, where she managed a caseload and appeared in court under a law student pre-Bar admission act.

Ms. Stone was a Public Defender for 5 years, culminating her career as Chief of Major Felonies for a large judicial circuit. She expertly managed a large case load, appearing in court countless times and trying hundreds of cases, including Murder, Armed Robbery, Rape and various other major felonies.

Ms. Stone commissioned as a 1LT into the U.S. Army JAG Corps in 2009. The majority of her work was in military justice, where she served as Senior Trial Counsel, Defense Counsel, Trial Counsel, Special Victims Counsel and Military Magistrate. She represented all ranks of military personnel, including senior level officers, in all levels and types of cases, from investigation through courts-martial. She served on active duty for almost 10 years, reaching the rank of Major.

Ms. Stone has appeared in court countless times, both as a civilian and on active duty. She has represented thousands of clients in various matters during her lengthy legal career.

Ms. Stone is passionate about giving back to her community. She currently chairs a committee at the Boys & Girls club through the Junior League of Savannah. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, where she has served in various positions over the years, including Criminal Law Section Chair and on the committee of the Military and Veteran’s Law Section.
